Shift: 2nd Shift (4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Monday – Thursday | Overtime greater than 40 hours required as needed)

Job Summary
Custom Staffing  is seeking a dynamic, talented, and hands-on CNC Supervisor to lead our second-shift operations. In this role, you will balance direct production responsibilities—such as running machines, editing programs, and setting up CNC lathes—with floor leadership, training, and team accountability. You will oversee the entire second shift (approximately 7 to 9 employees) across multiple departments, ensuring a respectful, safe, and highly efficient production environment.

Essential Functions

• CNC Setup & Operation: Set up multiple turning or milling machining centers involving intricate tooling for close-tolerance applications; run production work directly as needed.
• Shift Leadership: Oversee the entire second shift and manage 7–9 employees across the CNC area and other departments; hold the team accountable to the Employee Handbook and ISO9000 quality standards.
• Process Improvement & Programming: Make programming edits and job improvements; assist in devising machining methods for new and complex jobs; maintain documented production rates.
• Training & Development: Instruct, mentor, and train operators and additional setup personnel to expand team capabilities.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and correct mechanical or programming problems quickly; perform routine preventative machine maintenance using personal and assigned tools.
• Cross-Shift Communication: Provide seamless daily communication regarding production, safety, and tracking to the 1st shift Supervisor, Managers, and the Maintenance team.
• Workplace Organization: Actively drive and improve 5S organizational activities within your area of responsibility.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: 5 to 10+ years of proven CNC manufacturing and machining experience.
• Mathematical Proficiency: Strong shop math skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, fractions, and decimals across all units of measure.

Physical Requirements

• Stamina: Ability to stand continuously (6–12 hours per day) and walk frequently (2–4 hours per day).

• Dexterity: Continuous grasping and frequent repetitive motions.
