We are hiring two reliable Waste Management Technicians for our second shift. In this active, hands-on role, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, managing recycling streams, and ensuring hazardous waste is strictly handled according to federal regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts and Tugger machines daily.
- Waste Materials Logistics: Routinely pull trains of carts containing cardboard, trash, and plastic waste.
- Processing: Empty collected materials in the processing area and return carts for reuse.
- Regulatory Compliance: Apply RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations to waste packing and disposal.
- Documentation Management: Prepare and verify the accuracy of all shipping paperwork for hazardous waste.
- Shipment Preparation: Load company trucks and common carriers with waste bound for off-site disposal.
Qualifications & Skills
- Equipment Skills: Proven ability or certification to operate forklifts and Tugger machinery.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to classify waste according to RCRA, EPA, and DOT guidelines.
- Material Handling: Quick learner regarding proper methods for handling hazardous materials.
- Soft Skills: Strong customer service and communication skills for working on-site.
Physical & Medical Requirements
- Strength: Physical ability to tilt and maneuver ~800 lb drums onto a dolly.
- Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and drive equipment for long periods of time.
- Screening: Pass a company physical exam and pre-employment drug screening.
- Medical Surveillance: Participate in the company medical program and maintain respirator certification.
Environmental Conditions
- Daily Exposure: Work involves daily contact with fumes, dirt, noise, and hazardous chemicals.
- Safety Gear: Strict adherence to safety precautions and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
