Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Apply RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations to waste packing, transport, and disposal.
- Safety Commitment: Maintain an incident-free work environment by following all company and customer-site rules.
- Documentation Management: Prepare and verify accuracy of all shipping paperwork for hazardous waste.
- Logistics & Handling: Load and unload company trucks or common carriers using forklifts and equipment.
- Shipment Preparation: Package and load hazardous waste destined for off-site recycling and disposal facilities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to classify waste according to RCRA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
- Material Handling: Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes.
- Soft Skills: Strong customer service skills for on-site client interaction.
Physical & Medical Requirements
- Strength: Physical ability to tilt and maneuver ~800 lb drums onto a dolly.
- Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Screening: Pass a company physical exam and pre-employment drug screening.
- Medical Surveillance: Participate in the company medical program and maintain respirator certification.
Environmental Conditions
- Daily Exposure: Fumes, dirt, noise, and hazardous chemicals.
- Safety Gear: Requires strict adherence to safety precautions and use of protective equipment.
