Custom Staffing has partnered with a well established company in Lima, OH seeking a HR Training Assistant.
Position Summary
The Training Assistant supports the coordination, delivery, and documentation of employee training programs. This role ensures training materials, schedules, records, and compliance requirements are maintained to promote workforce development and operational effectiveness.
Work Schedule
• Standard schedule: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Occasional flexibility may be required to support training across multiple shifts or operational needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating training sessions, orientations, and skill development programs
• Prepare training materials, presentations, handouts, and sign-in sheets
• Maintain accurate training records and attendance logs
• Track employee training completion and certification status
• Support onboarding and new hire orientation processes
• Coordinate logistics such as training rooms, equipment, and supplies
• Update training trackers and databases to ensure compliance
• Communicate training schedules and reminders to employees and supervisors
• Assist trainers during classroom or on-the-floor instruction as needed
• Support audits by providing training documentation and reports
• Monitor expiration dates for certifications and notify management of upcoming renewals
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Ability to maintain accurate and confidential records
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and employees
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• 1–2 years of administrative, training coordination, or HR support experience preferred
Working Conditions
• Office and production floor environment (as applicable)
• May require standing, walking, and assisting during hands-on training sessions
• Occasional schedule flexibility to support multiple shifts or training sessions
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift training materials and supplies up to 25 pounds
