Summary: The Yard Manager oversees daily operations on both the flood and in the yard, implementing more efficient processes with continued improvement. Daily responsibilities are overseeing scrap collection, purchasing, processing, and shipping. This role monitors customer access and activities, working multiple shifts to provide guidance on safety standards. Duties include responsibility for effectively meeting productivity and profitability levels, applying knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, classification and sorting of metals, maintaining accurate inventory of all metals and parts, and building strong customer relations. 
 

Additional Responsibilities:  

• Maintain good communication with CEO, COO, and other management team members. 

• Be able to motivate and improve associate performance through monitoring and training. 

• Deliver exceptional customer service. 

• Attend weekly manager meetings at the main office located in Marion 

• Follow and enforce company policies and procedures 

• Generate, process purchase orders, review and approve invoices 

• Work closely with the Maintenance department to ensure all equipment is operational and in compliance with Recycling Industry Operation Standard (RIOS) and safety standards 

• Meet with prospective and current clients to maintain strong customer relationships.

 

Requirements: 

• High School diploma or GED 

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred 

• Documented history of successfully leading and implementing changes that involve all levels of employees with measurable results 

• 1 to 5 years of experience as a supervisor/manager 

• Knowledge of ferrous, non-ferrous, trading and transportation desired 

• Understanding of OSHA requirements and industry specific protocols. 

• This position will spend 60% of time at the yard and 40% on the road within 20 miles of Delaware, OH

Pay Range: $60,000 to $70,000 per year
