Light Industrial Maintenance technician is responsible to support all manufacturing functions to ensure efficient plant operations. These duties include the following:
Duties Include:
Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment as necessary. The plant equipment can consist of overhead cranes/hoists, motors, gearboxes, forklifts, pumps and air compressors.
Welding: Fabricate/repair fixtures, baskets and racks used in the handling and conveyance of product through the galvanizing process.
Loading / unloading and operating an MZR (Zinc recovery) machine
Maintaining pre-flux filter press process, which includes cleaning the filter screens when required and understanding/operating the controls.
Qualifications:
Welding knowledge – Certificate not required but should have 2-5 years of welding experience.
Good mechanical aptitude and electrical troubleshooting skills
Be self-motivated and able to work on your own
Ability to operator a man lifts and work at heights of approx. 25’
2 to 5 years of maintenance related experience
Ability to operate a forklift
The maintenance technician will work directly for the Maintenance Supervisor, who will assign projects and tasks to be worked on a daily / weekly basis. The maintenance technician is expected to be self-motivated and able to work on their own but will also take direction from the shift Lead Person or shift supervisor regarding manufacturing downtime situations.

General Inspector-Packer Responsibilities:
Arrive at the machine before shift start.
Inspect cartons and pack them into a box or bag.
Notify the operator/Supervisor of non-conforming products.
One of the general inspectors should move to the outfeed of the machine when the machine goes down to prepare for start-up.
Reclaim should be worked on by one of the general inspectors each every machine goes down (even just a couple of bags make a difference).
Help with daily cleaning (sweeping, mopping, and organizing).
Pick up bags from the floor and put them in the proper place.
Check for excess glue.
Inspect and package material
General Catcher Responsibilities:
Removes Finished Flat cartons from delivery of press and stacks them onto empty pallet. With exception of break and press make ready-, this activity is performed throughout working shift.
Catcher monitors for defective cartons (bad color, missing print, poor register, etc.) and isolates them from saleable cartons.
Responsible for assisting operator and assistant operator with preparing press for new printing job.
If new printing Job requires changing colors, catcher is responsible for cleaning unit (ink pans, dr. blade chambers, rollers, etc.)
Responsible for certain make-ready duties such as setting dr. blade chambers, changing cylinders etc.
Responsible for line clearance: Removing all materials and waste from previous job.
Catcher is to assist with washing of plates and rollers
Housekeeping
Responsible to perform additional duties assigned while press is down for preventive maintenance or other extended periods of downtime
Responsible for preventing of defect to the customer
Must have aptitude and willingness to move into assistant operator and operator roles.
