Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Location: New Carlisle, Ohio area
Hours: 5:30am -4:00pm Monday -Thursday

Pay:$18.00 - $20.00 depending on Experience
Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented
Shipping and Receiving Clerk to manage our incoming and outgoing inventory. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying shipping records, preparing products for transit, and ensuring all documentation meets strict quality and productivity standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong data-entry skills, and maintains a high level of accuracy under minimal supervision.
Major Responsibilities
- Shipment Verification: Compare identifying information, counts, weights, or measurements of incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other official records.
- Order Preparation: Assemble and pack product containers according to customer requirements and shipment modes; accurately affix shipping labels, stencils, or specialized customer-required labels onto cartons, skids, or storage devices.
- Documentation & Logistics: Prepare all shipping documents accurately and in a timely manner; post weights and shipping charges, and apply appropriate postage.
- Receiving & Inspection: Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments; identify and reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond directly with shippers to rectify discrepancies.
- Data Entry: Enter precise information into the company computer system to acknowledge the official receipt and shipment of goods.
- Returns Processing: Receive, document, and process all defective parts returned to the facility for replacement or credit.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Skills: Strong administrative, organizational, and basic mathematical skills for accurate counting and measuring.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient with computer systems and shipping software for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills to correspond effectively regarding damaged goods or shipping errors.
- Physical Ability: Able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and pack inventory throughout the workday
